The Dragons ChoiceKaylee and PorterI really struggled with this third book in the series.This book had a different feel from the others, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It was a refreshing change. Unlike the first two books, these two characters do not immediately become mates. Kaylee eventually becomes Porters chosen mate, as opposed to a fated mate. It was different. I liked that.I loved Porter. He first showed up the the second book. He’s Jace’s half brother. He’s moved to Bluewater to be near his only remaining family. A new clan, a new house, a new job. He’s struggling with his decision. He misses his old clan, his friends. Making things worse is the snippy woman who keeps turning up in his life. As much as she frustrates him, she also fascinates him.Kaylee I struggled with. It’s been a long time since I read a character that I truly hated. She was snobby, selfish and elitist. Used to men falling all over themselves just to be near her. And when Porter turns her down when he first meets her, she instantly hates him. When they both end up bidding on the same house, she wants him to withdraw his bid, just because it’s what she’s always wanted. She actually thought she was being cheated out of things that didn’t go her way. I was so disgusted by her I had to put the book down, and didn’t want to continue reading.Porter had patience and a whole lot of tolerance for what she did for a living. He chose to see it as instructional as opposed to pornography. I’m not sure how many men would have been as tolerant.These two go from hating each other, to lovers in a snap. It was such a quick change it almost made your head snap. It was too fast, it felt rushed.We also find out Kaylee has a secret that not even she knew about. It was kinda cool.I loved catching up with the past couples. And looking forward to Wayne and Bianca’s story next.Dual points of view.No cheating.HEA. The Dragons ChanceBianca and WayneI liked this book. Enjoyed both of these characters, much better than the last book.Bianca (Bee) is Briana’s sister (from book two). She’s finally fallen into a job that she loves, and with the help of her sister and best friend, she hopes to turn it into a career. She is a bit spoiled. Before her new beauty blog job, she lived above her parents garage. Now that she’s making more money, she’s moved into her own apartment. But her parents want her to save some money, so they pay her rent, and still have her on their cell phone plan. And because she can’t cook, and they don’t want her starving or living on take out, they pay for a private chef to come cook for her. Enter Wayne.Wayne is part of the local Dragon clan. He makes his living cooking for individuals or for fancy dinner parties. He knows the moment he sees Bee that she is his fated mate. They are definitely attracted to each other. But Wayne has a temper, and buts into her personal life more than an “employee” should. He decides to quit working for her. He needs to fix himself before he can claim her as his mate.They become friends, then lovers. Before he drops his big secret on her. Surprisingly, she takes it rather well.This was a relatively drama free story. They have their spats, and spend some time apart. Bee has an ex boyfriend that turns up causing a bit of drama, but he’s dealt with quickly.Overall a good story. I like this small town and the dragons that have claimed it. I loved catching up with the past couples and seeing the clan grow.I’m finding that one thing I don’t really care for is, what would essentially be the prologue of the current book, is always the last chapter of the previous book. If you don’t read the books in order, you miss how the two characters meet, and when his mate mark shows up. You’re missing a crucial part of the story.The other thing is editing and continuity. There are a few places where the wrong names are used. But the biggest mistake was when it’s mentioned that Porter’s mother had made the drive down to spend Christmas with him. According to the backstory in the last book, that’s simply not possible.I like the characters and I’ll read the next book.Dual points of view.No cheating.HEA.
